Does the thought of the Kitchener stitch scare the bejesus out of you?
It was certainly the main reason I put off knitting my first pair of socks for like, thirty years. Even now, dozens of completed socks later, I still don’t have that darn thing memorized! It’s always the setup for the stitch, as in the first two steps, that I have to always look up. So, I decided to make myself a pretty printable to hang in my craft room, so I could reference the stitch without firing up a laptop. It’s worked out great! So great, that I’ve even made a mini printable, 3″x2″, that I’ve laminated and attached to my sock knitting bag. It. Is. Awesome.
Now, keep in mind, this printable is to help jog your memory and assumes you’ve managed to successfully complete the Kitchener stitch at some point in the past. It is not a complete description of how to complete the stitch, just a helpful little mantra to get you through the process without resorting to looking it up. Again.
Happy knitting!
